The American League won the game 3-2 with Home Runs by LOU WHITAKER and FRANK WHITE. FERNANDO VALENZUELA pitched five consecutive strikeouts, tying the All-Star record set in 1934 by CARL HUBBELL. Winning Pitcher ROGER CLEMENS pitched three perfect innings which included only three balls and twenty-one strikes and was named as the game’s MVP.
